Definite Major Purpose in Life
It takes a certain kind of mental fortitude to maintain the focus necessary to achieve your purpose in life. We are so easily “distracted” by the (very real) commitments that we have made. Commitments that need us to meet the demand they are making. Our families. Our co-workers. They depend up on us to do our job. However, “that job” may have nothing to do with your purpose in life.
Ask Dr. Napoleon Hill. In the midst of the Great Depression, unlike the millions of Americans who feared for tomorrow, Dr. Hill knew what to do. Under the guidance of Andrew Carnegie for 25 years he studied great men and woman. He was commissioned to discover what made them successful. Mind you, he performed his duty while experiencing poverty himself. So, it appeared to be lunacy to sit down and begin writing a book in late 1935.
The book that Dr. Hill told himself he would write was a one-volume, paperback version of his masterpiece, THE LAWS OF SUCCESS. It took 25 years, but, he accomplished the task Carnegie gave him. He knew all 17 qualities that needed to be blended together in perfect harmony which lead to success in all endeavors. All he needed to do now was communicate those 17 qualities.
Think and Grow Rich was published in 1937. To the relief of his wife and children, the book went on to make Dr. Hill upwards of three million dollars. Mind you, this is in the 1940s and 50s. The magazines and lectures this book spawned kept Dr. Hill “employed” all the rest of his days.
Now, having done some research, I think that Dr. Hill had an advantage over his readers. You see, he “tested” these 17 laws . . . on his son. His son was born without “ears.” Yet, by using the “Philosophy of Success,” as he first called it, he inspired his son to hear through bone induction. Dr. Hill knew in his bones of bones that his philosophy worked.
Dr. Hill taught that success began with a Definite Major Purpose. It was fueled by a burning desire to see its fulfillment. Faith mixed with action produces miracles.
A miracle is exactly what 19.5 million children who are hungry in America are praying for.
My name is Kokayi Nosakhere. My definite major purpose is to inspire the feeding of ALL America’s children by December 31, 2015. I will accomplish this task using all means necessary. Currently, 1 out of 4 children in America are counting on a grassroots movement to answer their prayers. I will raise a team of Talented Americans to become that answer.
December 31, 2015 is only 3.5 years away. The challenge before us is considered impossible. During the weekend of July 1 – 4, 2011, I was inspired by the courage of 126 Americans. On facebook they did a very simple thing. They changed their profile pic to an END CHILD HUNGER pic. This inspired 10,000 people to visit a facebook page “livicated” to communicating the solution to childhood hunger in America. 126 people also reached over 50,000 shared friends.
Such activity inspires me. It gives me hope that enough Americans can be reached and activated in time to accomplish this goal.
As Muhammad Ali taught me, impossible is nothing!
